Accepting Employees To Shifts

You will be notified when an employee applies for an open shift.  Responding to applications is a very simple process.

1. Notifications

As a manager, you will receive notifications that employees have applied to cover an open shift in a few ways.

  • Email
  • SMS
  • Push notification

There is also the notifications list in the upper right corner of the web and mobile app to help keep you up to date on what is happening.

2. Purple shifts

Shifts that have turned purple (see above) are shifts that have open applications (not yet approved). Clicking into these shifts will show you who is willing and able to work that shift.

3. Confirm employee

You will see how many employees were invited to the shift, and a profile cards for employees who have applied to this shift, including information on their home site, approval roles, and contact details. Click 'Approve' to select an employee.

You should see the shift booked (in green) once you approved that employee's application.

The employee will be notified immediately of the completed booking, and it will of course show up on his/her Swift Shift app calendar screen.
